The town’s first concrete bridge was built over the PI Stream on State Street in 1907. Prior to its construction, wooden logs served as a makeshift crossing, necessitating frequent maintenance. This concrete bridge stood strong for nearly a century before it required replacement.

The left photograph was taken circa 1967.
