April/May WUPI

Hey Everyone,
As you probably heard, if you are listening to WUPI, we are playing exclusively automation to keep you entertain as we still get used to our new normal.
Two years ago, I accepted the opportunity to be the station manager of WUPI. During this experience, I have witnessed the station develop. I would like to acknowledge those who gave me this opportunity. It is something I never thought about doing but I wouldn’t change my experience at WUPI for anything.
As of May 1st, 2020 our next station manager Rebecca Dillenbeck will be stepping up. I know the station is in great hands and will continue to strive.
Meantime, keeping listening to WUPI and supporting the student DJs that volunteer to do exceptional radio shows. The radio club is a unique club on campus because we know that every individual in it wants to be there. After all, no professors are requiring them to do it. They can be a pain sometimes, but at the same time, the most entertaining group of characters I have come across. I want to acknowledge them for their hard work and dedication.
Thanks,
Max Bushman

Another Year in the Books – Year in Review

Friends,

Another year has come and gone, as The University of Maine at Presque Isle and WUPI go into the Summer Break there will be no live DJs in the station this summer, but have no fear the great hits will still keep going!

As the summer rolls on we will be planning for the 2019 – 2020 school year. Stay tuned for updates when that becomes available.

December/January – New Year Update

Friends,

As family across the world are celebrating the holidays, we at WUPI are still working hard to bring you the best radio station. We know that you have many stations or apps to choose from, but we are truly grateful that you continue to choose WUPI.

Right now, the University of Maine at Presque Isle is on Winter Break, so there is no live programming. These shows will resume in late January.

WUPI will be switching over to a new program to determine the Top 40 and what songs play when. Do not worry, the same music that you know will still be playing, just in a bigger and better way!

May 2019 be a prosperous year,

Max L Bushman

Another Year in the Books…..and it’s time to start utilizing this site!

Greetings from your friendly neighborhood station manager! So it’s been a week since finals ended and WUPI has seen another successful year come to a close! Since October of 2015 we’re thankful to say that we’ve seen WUPI grow in size and in our listener base. We’ve grown from 4 DJs to over 25 DJs and Broadcasters. We’ve also changed locations moving from Normal Hall to Pullen 209 in the classroom building. We’ve beefed up our social media presence and brought a variety of new shows to WUPI. This in part is due to  the amazing dedicated staff we’ve had here at WUPI. Without them the station would be nowhere near as successful as it is today. And of course where would we be without our dedicated listeners? For those of you who have stood by us since the beginning we can not thank you enough! Without you guys we wouldn’t have the community support that we have today! So now that we’ve spent the past 18 months rebuilding our station we need your help in helping our station grow! So we’re asking for your feedback on how you think we can make the listening experience better for you all! Shoot us an email with your thoughts, opinions, and suggestions at wupi@maine.edu
