The Page Turners Book Club was created in the Spring Semester of 2016. It is currently celebrating it’s one year anniversary of being an official club on campus. The club’s advisor is Michelle Greene, our current president is Sully Jackson and the secretary is Chenoa Jackson.

The club meets Friday at 2:30p.m. in the CIL (Center for Innovative Learning) on a biweekly basis. Our next club meeting will be Friday, February 10th at 2:30 pm. We are currently reading the novel titled, “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. We try to pick books from differing genres as well as books that have a movie adaptation to go with them. It allows us to have a movie night when we finish the book. Movie nights entail pizza, soda, and sometimes chips. We meet in the CIL, normally on a weekend and watch the movie.

Book club is a great way to meet new people that, otherwise, you wouldn’t have met due to conflicting classes, groups, etc. It’s not very time consuming, and it doesn’t cost any money to join. Discussion times can take from half an hour up to an hour depending on what else is on the agenda. However, we are all understanding that everyone has different time schedule and availability, so we understand the need to leave early or arrive late.

Our discussions are often quite lively and tend to end with lots of laughter! It’s an amazing club to be a part of and experience the joy that comes with it.
