Members of the University Times (Utimes) team gathered during a recent meeting and discussed how they met their significant others and close friends!

Briana Diaz and Waylon Jones, a couple, first met through their roommates at the university.
“Our old roommates were dating,” Diaz said. “I was her roommate, he was his. They connected us.”
Jones adds “It’s funny because Bri and I are both from Florida, but we met up here.”

Professor Jen Lynds and Dan Dobbs tells their story with a smile on their faces of how they met in high school.
“I met Dan in our junior year in English class,” Lynds said with a smile. “We had a teacher named Mr. Bossie. Dan sat right in front of me and insisted on calling our teacher ‘Mr. Bousay,’ totally mispronouncing it. I kept correcting it, and he kept getting it wrong.”
Lynds finishes her story by telling us, “It drove me nuts. I still married him.”

Bromance is in the air with these roommates, Jones and Mitchell.
“I met Waylon in the hallway and asked if he liked running and if he would like to join cross country.” started Isiah Mitchell, “I still ask him if he wants to join to this day” he laughs.
Waylon continues, “I said no. He repeatedly asked me. As time went on, we all grew close (with Isiah and Bri) and formed a friend group for the last semester. Now we are roommates”.
The Utimes team is very lucky to have such a close knit family of journalists. With such strong connections, our dynamic is only stronger.
