Thursday night, Oct. 26, the business club brought a fantastic painting night to UMPI. Paula Siddiqui, who is a local artist from Caribou, Maine, instructed its paint night. The fun activity was in hopes of raising funds for a trip to Washington, D.C. That planned trip will create connection and further business knowledge.
As co-president Brooke Varney said, “The club hoped to bring the campus and outside community together for this fun activity.” Besides bringing a lot of fun to people, the activity was particularly to celebrate Halloween. And it even let participants learn a lot of painting skills outside of class and school.
“We both had so much fun. She loves painting, and this is her first time to paint canvases. Now she has a new technique,” Rachel Rice, director of UMPI’s community and media relations, said of her daughter, Naomi Rice. Together they created a beautiful owl painting.
The next business club painting night will be held on Nov. 30. Everyone is welcome to join in. Paula has not yet decided what participants will paint about. If you have any ideas, please connect with her on Facebook.
