In the movie, main characters Bernstein, Woodward, Bradlee, along with the Washington Post, took a lot of steps to ensure the freedom of the press and the future of democracy. The movie discusses the importance of investigative journalism. This all took place around the time of the Watergate scandal and the Nixon resignation. The journalists’ work on this story is what eventually led to Nixon’s resignation. This group of people helped shape the course of history through their work.
