We are all starting to find it hard to stay on task in classes, and we are all tired of winter.  Now is the time to get moving and go for walks and enjoy the fresh air and warm sunshine.  Maybe that might be running outside or walking on the bike path with some friends up to Mantle Lake Park.  Take advantage of our disc golf course on campus, as well as our basketball courts and horseshoe pit.  Getting out with friends is always good for our mental well-being.  It is a nice relief knowing that the semester is coming to an end and we survived another year of the COVID restrictions!

If you are looking to get outside and go hiking, don’t forget that Aroostook State Park, Nordic Heritage Center and Big Rock Mountain are great places for hiking and mountain biking. If the weather is really nice, do not forget that Gentile Hall has canoe and kayak rentals if you are interested in going with some friends down the Aroostook River.  Getting outside for some physical activity is very important for us to stay healthy physically but also mentally as we start preparing ourselves for final exams.

Gentile Hall is back and running at regular hours of operation.  This includes the pool and rock wall being open as well.  So come in and enjoy everything that Gentile has to offer.  Check out our website at umpi.edu/gentile-hall for hours of operation and all other activities going on in the facility.

Some of us are still trying to lose the COVID weight we have gained during the pandemic.  Now is the time to start thinking about eating more fruits and vegetables.  A healthy tip to weight loss is to start eating your greens!!  The Riverside Farmers Market will start at the beginning of June on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.  This is a wonderful market to get fresh fruits and vegetables,  eggs and meats from local farmers.  Now is the time to get those grills ready to use all summer.

I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing summer and look forward to seeing everyone in the fall.
