There is a new series of student activities are coming to UMPI this semester called “Night Owls.” They will take place every alternating Friday and Saturday through this semester, always at night, always in the Owl’s Nest. Paint Night is the biggest series of activities among the night hours activities.
There was a Paint Night on Friday, Feb. 8, 9-10:30 p.m., open to all students. Students received free canvases, paint and anything else that they would need for their creations.
Students gathered together to learn and inspire. The participants came up with new designs for T-shirts, colorful oil painting and creative artwork .
“ I never did this before. This is something new for me. It’s very fun. They should have more of these events–people like to do this,” India Evans, a student on campus, said with a smile.
“Because of our campus closes early, the Owl’s Nest will always hold activities at night. We are inviting all on-campus students to join the Night Owl activities. And enjoy the campus free time!” Violet Washburn, coordinator of campus engagement & international student services, said.
The next Night Owl event: will be Bingo & Blow Pops, Friday, Feb. 22, 9-10:30 p.m.
