SINCERITY

by Tiernan Barbosa, Student Contributor

Interest that appears is entertained then grows-

For only reasons god knows.

Without the light

Without the spark

We believe we are left

And conclude we’re not smart

We can understand

Can see some threads

But is the peak of truth is far overhead?

Or do we have to simply look within

And humble our exalted selves

To a point of spiritual suicide

Where truth lies at the bottom

At each dark and good crevice of our hearts

To know we are the interest of the mind.
