UTIMES Staff Writer

The University Times staff is interviewing students across campus as part of our “campus voices” project. Staff writers are profiling faces fresh and familiar to forge stronger relationships within our campus community. Check the UTimes website each week to see each new profile!

Marah Russell is a second-year student majoring in English with a concentration in professional communication and journalism. Originally from Bangor, Maine, she landed at the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) after being approved for a scholarship at the University of Maine.

She compared her options and decided that a UMPI education was the more intelligent financial choice.

While Marah has a passion for journalism and writing, she would also like to acquire her real estate license while obtaining her degree. She is involved in many aspects of campus, including serving on the Student Government Association (SGA) as a senator and writing for the University Times.

Considering the size of UMPI’s campus, she remarked, “It’s easy to stay involved in everything.”
