Curio Cabinet, UMPI History, President’s Office

The Office of the President is led by President Raymond J. Rice, supported by Lisa Pucci, special assistant to the president and Deborah Roark, executive director for university advancement and external affairs. The office is responsible for all aspects of campus operation within the campus mission, as well as plans and policies stated by the chancellor and the board of trustees of the University of Maine System. The President’s Office also works closely with the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s board of visitors, foundation board and alumni board.

New to our office this year is a link to our Speaking Engagement Form located on our UMPI website on the President’s Office page. If your organization or student group wants to request President Rice’s presence at a particular meeting or event, please utilize this form. The link to our page as well as the speaking engagement form is below.

Our office is a warm and friendly place located on the main floor of Preble Hall. Many days you can follow the scent of freshly popped popcorn to our office.  We encourage you to stop by, have a chat and grab a bag to go! And don’t forget when you do stop by, take the time to view some of the history of UMPI on display in our large curio cabinet, including an Aroostook State Normal School (UMPI’s early name) uniform from alumna Susan Bassett Ward, circa 1921, or the very first yearbook “The Salmagundi,” circa 1909, discovered in an alum’s attic, just to name a few.  (*The meaning of salmagundi is “a general mixture, a miscellaneous collection”–just in case you were wondering.)
