Life can offer many things to appreciate and be thankful for. Many appreciate things from family, friends, pets or even material items. \u201cI appreciate my mom. My sisters. My dogs and cats. And I am thankful for my friends. I appreciate my Jeep not breaking down,\u201d New Hampshire native, adventurer and dog lover, Breanna Richards, said. We feel gratitude by being thankful for things.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Support surrounds these feelings. \u201cI\u2019m thankful for my family.\u00a0 We laugh, cry and celebrate. We are there for each other. Our pets allow me to take care of them. Be their voice. It\u2019s an honor to be able to share my life with these animals. I am thankful for my friends, too. We are able to share stories. We also love to do fun things and support each other,\u201d mom of two and animal lover, Catherine Small, said. Same should be said for pets and friends,\u201d Small said. Friends, family and even pets are great companions to help in giving you a support system. \u201cThey are extremely important because without them I wouldn\u2019t be who I am now. I wouldn\u2019t be able to feel comfortable exploring or traveling,\u201d Richards said. Now, imagine having a bad day and coming home to a loving pet whom you can cuddle with. Or even running up to a friend for a hug. These things make you feel all the more appreciative of them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Take a moment to think about what would happen if you didn\u2019t have these things to appreciate. How would you feel? \u201cI\u2019m thankful because not everyone has a solid support system. They have to rely on themselves and that is hard to do. I love to travel. I\u2019d need my Jeep to do it,\u201d Richards said. Imagine how reassuring it would feel to be able to rely on a support system. Those you can count on. People, friends, family or even pets. \u201cIt is most important to me. My life would not be fulfilled without my family, pets and friends,\u201d Small said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0When people are surrounded by things they appreciate, they may feel a sense of completion.\u00a0 \u201cI value them in that way because I feel as it honors them for everything, they have done with me or for me,\u201d Richards said. To value something is to appreciate it. \u201cAnd they make me feel a lot of emotions: mostly happy. They occasionally make me question my sanity. I love having them around,\u201d Richards said. To feel happy and be able to have a good laugh with friends is something to be thankful for.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0It, however, can sometimes be hard to find things to appreciate in life. \u201c I would say that even in the worst circumstances, you can reach out to the right people who love you and care for you. You\u2019ll realize you\u2019ll have more to appreciate than you realize,\u201d Richards said. This tip can help anyone learn to find something or someone to appreciate. \u201cThere is always something to appreciate. Life in itself is worth living. Find what brings you joy and appreciate the small moments,\u201d Small said. To feel joyous and cared for is a feeling like no other. It\u2019s like a warm hug.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Imagine the possibilities when you find something to appreciate in your life. \u201cI would definitely say that everything around you, you can make the best of it. Sometimes it\u2019s hard to appreciate the things in life. But that\u2019s when you need that thing or people the most,\u201d Richards said. To look for daily things in your life that make you happy or content can help find what you appreciate. \u201cEvery day there is something that goes by or something that finds us to remind us to look for the positive things life has to offer. From there you will grow,\u201d Small said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Think about a time or a memory that brought you pure joy. Hold on to it. Appreciate it.
