<\/a>A lot of people are watching the UMPI vs FISHER soccer game.<\/p><\/div>\n
The 2017 UMPI men\u2019s soccer team has a lot of young, new players.\u00a0 <\/span>On Sunday, Sept. 17, the team started the game with five freshmen, again. During the previous three games, the players had been becoming familiar with the college game.\u00a0 <\/span>They had learned and practiced. For this match, they put in a full performance, the kind that all fans want to see every game. \u00a0 <\/span>The men won the game against Fisher with a score of 1 to 0.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The Fisher Falcons and the Owls have played each other for around 12 years. The game was not only the first time UMPI beat them in the last three years, but also was UMPI\u2019s first win of the season.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>With only three minutes remaining, Ansumana Morrow passed the ball to No. 7, Sean Barbosa.\u00a0 <\/span>He controlled the ball and fired a shot into the back of the net. \u201cI am a fan of my son! That was impressive! They\u00a0 <\/span>were\u00a0 <\/span>passing well, capturing well and defending efficiently,\u201d Mary Kate Barbosa, Sean\u2019s mother, said.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The coaching staff members were pleased with the team\u2019s effort. \u201cThis game was the best we played this semester,\u201d the head coach, Alan Gordon, said with a smile.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>\u201cWe are getting better, passing better and communicating is a lot better ,\u201d No. 10, Brandon Danforth, said.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The game was a good forecast for the 2017 UMPI men\u2019s soccer team.\u00a0 <\/span>They all are getting better and stronger.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The 2017 UMPI men\u2019s soccer team has a lot of young, new players.\u00a0 On Sunday, Sept. 17, the team started the game with five freshmen, again.
