Kevin McCartney is a Professor of Geology and Environmental Studies at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. During February to June 2022, he is a Fulbright Scholar in Lucknow India, where we continues his scientific work in micropaleontology. Kevin studies the silicoflagellates, single celled algae that live in the modern oceans and have a long geologic history. He posts daily pictures from India on this page.

Kevin was previously a Fulbright Scholar in Szczecin Poland during two semesters 2016-2017 and Kościuszko Scholar in Spring 2019. Pictures from these travels can be seen on this site using the links below.

Walking Pterosaur

Those who have visited my office in Presque Isle know that to be decorated in pterosaurs.  Here is a large full-sized skeletal construction in walking stance.
